Blades Manager Told ‘We’re Hecking Bottom’ after Questioning Axe

A furious row broke out Saturday evening between Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah and soon-to-be-ex-manager Paul Heckingbottom.

Following Saturday’s five-nil humbling at the hands of fellow relegation battlers, Burnley, Blades owner Prince Abdullah informed manager Paul Heckingbottom that he’s likely to be sacked as soon as they find a suitable replacement.

Heckingbottom, apoplectic with the decision, directed a furious tirade at Prince Abdullah and the Sheffield United board, questioning their lack of investment during the summer and their struggles to find a kit sponsor. Speaking about the latter, an onlooker heard Heckingbottom yelling: ‘CFI? What the f*** is CFI? Crappy f***ing investment, that’s what that means!’

Things got progressively more heated as the discussion continued, with Heckingbottom reportedly challenging Abdullah, asking: ‘Do you know who I am?! I’m Paul f***ing Heckingbottom,’ to which Prince Abdullah responded, ‘You’re Heckingbottom? You’re Heckingbottom? Please. We’re hecking bottom! We’re hecking bottom because of you. Get out of my sight.’

Chris Wilder is now in talks to take over the reins at Bramall Lane, and if nominative determinism is really at play here, ‘hecking bottom’ Sheffield United are about to see their season get a whole wilder.
